I blame it on the intervals

Sharing my trail running experience

I blame it on the intervals

Interval session with Team Nordic Trail

Or could it be the lack of rest days… Probably the latter, but it feels better to blame it on the intervals, putting the blame on something else than me… 😉

During the interval session last week, I felt that my calfs was tired. Despite that I pushed through mixed terrain with speed and lots of snow. While running in the snow its hard to get perfect steps, and the feet glides a bit in each direction. I would think that it’s during on of these strides, my right calf gave up. But I didn’t. Not until Saturday.

I guess I need a few days of rest now…

Monday – Short intervals with Team Nordic Trail

As normal, TNT sessions are warm, filled with positive energy where we together help each other through fun and challenging intervals.

Tuesday – This Tuesday morning was filled with fire & fury in Väsjöbacken.

Wednesday – I took the day off. I did feel tired after the Monday and Tuesday session and I did feel tension in my calf. I guess I deserved a day off.

Thursday – Another TNT session with short intervals

Another magical morning run. When working from home, and remote with people through different time zones. The mornings are special. No notifications and just focusing on me and my needs. Like running.

Friday – the bonus hill run with Friends

A real bonus run. A real fun run. 1 hour of mixed hills in Haga parken, is a great way to start the week already on a Friday morning.

No weekend running

When I woke up on Saturday, I had planned to go out for an early morning run. Though… I finally realised that the pain in the calf won’t go away if I train more. I have to take a few days off. Hopefully, I’ll see you out on the trails shortly again.

This weekend I spent a good few hours out in the magical winter together with my kids. Ice skating on a lake near by on Saturday, and a lovely hike on Sunday.

I also finally got my new running watch this weekend. I upgraded my COROS Apex, to the really nice looking COROS Vertix.

You know what…. Next week I will get my new Nordictrack S22i delivered 😍
