An upgrade to COROS Vertix

Coroso Vertix, an upgrade from COROS Apex

A few years ago… I was a Suunto user. Watching inspiring YouTube clips from runners and trail runners from US. One thing, many of them had in common was how they positively spoke about their running watch. Something called COROS Apex. How special can it be I thought. Now a few years later I know.

Just about the time when I bought my COROS Apex, and the brand first came to Sweden they also released COROS Vertix. I remember a clip well where Chris made a really cool unboxing video. If you know me, you would know that I do like to test the latest tech – the timing was therefore not great when Chis unboxed a new COROS, and I realise that I’ve now bought a budget model 😉

The COROS Apex has been far from a budget model though. I’ve been super happy with it. The thing that makes COROS magical is the battery life. With 30 days, and 30 hours of full GPS it outperform most of the other running and GPS watches I’ve tried by miles… excuse the pun…

During the years I’ve now owned a COROS, I’ve come to truly love it, but its only now when I’ve upgrade it to the the COROS Vertix it will replace my Apple Watch and become my only watch. As in regards to features, I’m not sure if the Vertix offer much more that I really will use. I mean, 30 hours full GPS was enough, not sure I will use the 60 hours of GPS for some time and I don’t really use many of the smart features. Neither on this watch or my Apple Watch.

I do expect though, that COROS might release an updated Vertix this year and then I will be ready. I will buy the latest one early this time. The only thing I could wish for is a slightly brighter screen. I would sacrifice a few hours on the GPS for a brighter screen.

I compensated the unnecessary large box buy buying a second hand COROS Vertix watch this time.
