Run Happy – Inspiration for a day
Today I joined Runners World for a day of inspiration and new learnings. And what a day it became. Meeting up with like minded people. People I’ve met in running clubs before, and people both me and them thought we met each other before, until we just realise that it’s the first time in IRL, where we otherwise only have given likes on Instagram before.
The biggest learning from today was one of Fredriks many tips; let it feel like your elbow is filled with water. This together with clear instructions that the arm should be more bent (more than the normal 90 degrees often is heard and recommended) actually made a real difference. It felt like my cadence increased, got lighter steps and all over a better feeling. That feeling, together with all the “proof“ he showed us definitely will make me think more of my arm movement in the future. I had high hopes of the session with Fredrik, but he managed to surpass my expectations. Lots of learnings mixed with jokes. It for sure was both inspirational and fun. If you ever get a chance to listen and learn from Fredrik, take it.
The rest of the morning continued with us testing our new learnings at Stockholms stadion. Everything from beer belly posture to smiles was tested.
During the afternoon we listen to Filip Larsen who learnt us about muscles. Mustafa Mohamed and Mikaela Arfwedson shared their tips and training ideas. Them we should for sure listen to. Mikaela winning the Stockholm Marathon, and Musse being the Swedish champ in Marathon with his record time of 3.10. During the afternoon Musse shared more of his learnings during an interval session, and wow, what a stride and technique he has. It looked so easy. I for sure didn’t take it easy, even if he cruised by.
I ended up here the day after. Massaging my muscles. Oh well, I guess I blame the surface over my technique. 🙂
The day ended with a strength and movement session with Camilla. A session that felt like a perfect ending on a a perfect day.
Thanks Anders and Runers World for organising the day.
