The start of We Run Stockholm

Sharing my trail running experience

The start of We Run Stockholm

Running in Stockholm

We Run Stockholm – Something new and exciting. With being a trail runner… (feels fairly good to say that) I haven’t run much in the city for the last couple of years due to the fright of injury and the boring repetitive loops. I thought it’s now time to change that. Me and my friend Daniel has come up with a plan. More to follow in a new future… 🙂

Monday – Team Nordic Trail

For me to chose theme this week… I went all in and created a nice trail loop to run on, and came up with lots of fancy rules. But, I clearly need to simplify the game part. To complex rules made the competition a bit too confusing. Next time I will focus more on running. I guess that’s why we are here anyway. 🙂

Monday massage…

Feeling the pain after the short interval bursts on Sunday afternoon.

Tuesday – A true rest day.

Tuesday, I reseeded completely. Not many steps all calories burnt at all.

Wednesday – Another rest day

My second rest day this week. This time with a least some movement. Me and Estelle discovered new trails in the surrounding area. Buying a bike was one of the best things I’ve done this year. To be able to get out a few hours together with my kids is a great feeling.

Thursday – Team Nordic Trail, again

Biathlon running

Finally Thursday morning again. I love waking up early just to join Team Nordic Trail on the Thursday morning sessions. Its friendly, social, fun and awarding. One should really do this every day. This week, Thomas let us pretend we competed in biathlon. If that’s not a reason to get up, I don’t know what is… 🙂

I unfortunately forgot my Altras at home. Good thing I like running barefoot then. Though, when not running barefoot that much any more, I definitely feel it. Time to slowly get back to barefoot running.

Friday – Treadmill running, new trails and a road trip

Taking half a day off, gave me the opportunity to both get an early session on the treadmill and go for a run during lunch. The morning hill sessions on my Nordictrack are great. I can really feel how the sessions give me more strengths out on the trails. If I can keep this up the whole winter, I will a have a great time next year.

During lunch I wanted to go out for a short run. I have recently started to plan a loop just outside my house. Thought that I could build a nice reflex loop for this winter, and it seems like I can find something fun. Just next doors…

During the evening, me and Leon took the car down to Västergötland. Time for some family time. We haven’t met much since March when Corona hit. It was great to see them all.

Saturday -The Rankås 10K

Being home, it is always nice to visit Rankås. Tibro has done a great job creating a relaxing area with lots of nice trails. I rarely try to run fast, and I can’t say that I did today either. But it’s always fun, when Strava gives you a PB on the loop.

Sunday – Can Billingen and Skövde compete?

Sunday morning , I wanted to get in a few hours before the day started. Not a proper long run, but at least 14K trails. And Rankås, watch out. Skövde and Billing are coming on strong. Skövde has recently rebuilt a Billingen outdoor area, and the running tracks are now more and there are mountainbike trails everywhere. To my big joy, they have also built a trail run loop. Lots of fun twists, turns and hills. The trail loop was only 5k, but I connected it with a nice 8k hike loop to see more of Billingen.
