I’ve been accepted to UTMR – Ultra Tour Monte Rosa

Sharing my trail running experience

I’ve been accepted to UTMR – Ultra Tour Monte Rosa

I wanted to apply last year, but it didn’t happen and at that I wasn’t really trained enough still recovering from the foot injury. But the question is, am I trained enough now?

Last year, I believe I ran longer than I ever have been, ending up on about 2.800K for the year so right now, I do believe that I’m in my best shape ever. Having been vegan for a year, and without alcohol for two, I believe that my body has never been better and its fun to sometimes reflect that I have come a long way from my first K on the treadmill.

Despite that, it feels scary now when I have just been accepted to my biggest challenge so far, and I couldn’t be more excited. That feeling of can I complete it or not… I think I can, I know I can – but how will I feel after. It’s with renewed excited for training I will now set out to train harder, run further and with more elevation than I ever have been before.

In beginning of September, I will with a group of friends from Trailrun4fnu travel to Monte Rosa. A beautiful part of the Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Together we will run the Ultra Tour Monte Rosa. A four day stage race of 170K and with 11,600m of elevation gain.

Ready, stead, GO – 2021 will be a year of dedicated running to prepare for my biggest challenge (so far…)

As preparation for this key race, I have two other exciting running trips planned earlier in the year as well. Great Lakeland, 3days stage race (120K/7,500m) and an adventure run with Team Nordic trail around Mount Blanc.
