A coffee with elevation
Since just over a month or so, I finally bought my self a Nordictrack X22i treadmill. Ever since I saw Jamil, “exposing” 😉 his secret Barkley Marathon training tool I have wanted to have one. Scanning the market for a used one, as I wasn’t sure how much I would use it, and they are bloody expensive to start off with. I was very pleased when I one day found one in central Stockholm.
Now, it will take sometime until I reach the beautiful race in Tennessee but some elevation is always needed. Thats the trick with this treadmill. With an incline up to 40 degrees, it’s the perfect training tool to replace the long hills found in the Alps or the like. I discovered last year while running in Verbier that hill training for more then 10-15 minutes up is needed. Going up and down the slopes in Stockholm is just not enough.
I haven’t fel the urge to run on the treadmill yet, but to get a free meters of elevation when enjoying my morning coffee, it’s fantastic.
Please note that to use the Nordictrack system to the full extent, you need to subscribe to the service, but so far it has been well worth the money.
