My second fix
Having done a few sessions with morning training, I felt tired when I left work this Wednesday evening. Stressed about a few things at work, but tired in my body. Also mindful of that I can’t run too much. When my foot broke, the doctors described how the bones will deteriorate during each run, just to recover and get even stronger during rest days and sleep. The rest is important for my bone. I don’t want it to break again.
So, what to do then. At home, most of the things are fairly in order. One can always clean more, but how fun and relaxing is that. I could go out and do something else, visit a cinema or a gym, but its not really my thing. I needed to get distracted and focus on something other than work or sitting down. How great then, that I have since some time found a new passion that is close to give the same feeling of focus and “here and now” like technical trail running does. Mountainbiking. Simply put a few fat wheels under me, and fly over the terrain I otherwise normally run.
Going out on the trails using my Trek Fuel-x 7 feels great. I need to focus not to fall. I need to push my self to keep the speed and I truly feel relaxed afterwards. My mind gets to rest.
If you feel stressed, annoyed over something at work or at home. Take an hour on the trails. You will feel better. I know I for sure do.
Today, I got to enjoy the Ursvik MTB trails on both during a morning run, and evening ride. What a luxury!
Below is the strava part. The cycling done from home, and the “long” version of the NICK mtb trail in Ursvik. The running on the “shortcut” version of the NICK mtb trail.
