Long time since we ran long intervals with Team Nordic Trail
It had now been a lifetime (perhaps not, but it for sure feels like it) since we last ran intervals together. By following the local recommendations and restrictions all joint training sessions has been cancelled for weeks and weeks. Today it was finally time to meet up out in the forest and enjoy the trails together Team Nordic Trail.
Today we enjoyed long intervals, in a Ursvik forest that was beautiful. At least to start with. With recently fallen snow, the trees become magical to run through. We had organised a few extra coaches, and was able to offer more groups than normal, so in total each group only was a handful of members. Though, even with a small group, you get that magical feeling of training together. It become easier to push your self just a bit extra. Or to run the intervals at all.
Today we started with a 10 minute warm-up run. Enjoyed a few technique exercises with walking on the toes and high heel kicks. The interval sessions it self was a tough one. With shorter rest, and longer intervals we all felt tired, but happy, afterwards.
- 1min running, 30 seconds rest.
- 2min running, 30 seconds rest.
- 3min running, 30 seconds rest.
- 4min running, 30 seconds rest.
- 5min running, 60 seconds rest.
- 4min running, 30 seconds rest.
- 3min running, 30 seconds rest.
- 2min running, 30 seconds rest.
- 1min running, 30 seconds rest.
After these sessions, we slowly jogged back and finished the last minutes with a well deserved plank in the rain. 🙂
