Daily training, but without reaching the goal

Sharing my trail running experience

Daily training, but without reaching the goal

This week I thought it would be easy to reach my weekly running goal. I really would like to run further and get more miles in every week to be able to be safely run 100 miles one day. Therefore; I would like to get at least 70K in per week, but ultimately later get it up to 100K per week. What I don’t want to do though is to run any sessions, just to get it done. I want to run the sessions that I believe is motivating and fun. That normally includes lots of trails and hills. This way it’s harder to get the miles in that I want and reach the goal of the week. But.. I’m happy with the result anyway. I’m getting fun sessions in that is also building strength for the adventures this summer. I also had a great week with three sessions with Team Nordic Trail..

Monday – Coach at Team Nordic Trail

It had just come some more snow, and the Monday evening run with Team Nordic Trail in Ursvik was amazing. This time with had a nice little loop and enjoyed some “Fartlek”.

Tuesday – A hilly morning with friends

Tuesdays mean, Väsjöbacken. So it did this week. An hour of playtime, hiking and running in the snow.

Wednesday – Checking out Grimsta

As I didn’t get that much training my self on Monday when I joined the Team Nordic Trail session as a coach, I on Wednesday headed to Grimsta to join their session. Grimsta offer a really magical forest with hills, rocks and random trails. This time we had a nice trail loop mixed with some open flat running. The flat running might look easy, but it really wasn’t. As it had been slush the week before, it was all frozen below the snow. With easy steps one had to avoid falling.

Thursday – The Team Nordic Trail morning sessions

Team Nordic Trail was the reason I started with trail running. Thursday morning sessions with Team Nordic Trail is also a reason to why I started with morning training. The Thursday morning sessions has become really social as its normally the same group of people that defeats the resistance and get out for a run.

Friday – A bonus hill

Friday was meant to be a rest day. But how can it be when my running friend Fredrik has created a fun hill session in my closest hill. Oh well.. I live to rest another day.

Saturday – Hell lots of snow in Hellas

Me and Helena had decided to visit Åda for a nice long run together. But as it had just snowed even more, we decided to stay closer to Stockholk. We thought that an easy run in Hellas was the way to go, and the finish with a nice lunch at Hellasgården. We were partly right. The lunch was nice, but the run was far from easy.

We ran the 20K from Hellas to Solsidan and back, following the green and blue trails. This is normally a nice trail, mixed with rocks, roots and beautiful scenery. This time it was even more beautiful, and even more challenging. With at least 20 centimeter of snow, we didn’t take a straight running step for 20K.

Don’t miss my video summary of this little run in Hellas.

Sunday – The MTB trail and a bonus run

During Sunday morning we took of to run the MTB trail in Ursvik. As it had fallen lots of snow even in Ursvik, the NICK trail was more beautiful than ever. Its great fun to spend lots of time in the nature and see how the nature change during the seasons.

In the evening; I did what I said I don’t want to do. I took another 10K loop just to get the miles in. To make it a bit more fun, I checked out new streets of Stockholm as I slowly continue to run every street of Stockholm.
